the story behind Maria Regina Photography

Maria Regina Photography first came into existence in 2019 when I purchased my first camera. At the time, I had been working many hours as a nursing assistant on various covid units and admittedly became burnt out. I quickly realized I needed to intentionally pursue the beauty and light of the human experience  to balance out the heaviness I encountered on a daily basis. My lens and lightroom subscription quickly became exactly that.



Since then, photography has blessed me in so many ways. Not only do I get to create art in a way I find to be extremely fulfilling, but I also get to  be invited into other peoples lives and share in some really intimate moments. It has been my honor to  be trusted to capture each of  the stories I've been invited into.

At the moment, I am quite busy in this season of motherhood as well as nursing school, so I am not as available as I will be down the road, but my goal remains the same as it always has (just on a smaller scale)- to make you feel beautiful, authentic, and to create incredible photographs for you to cherish forever, all while creating a stress free, enjoyable experience.

In an ever increasing AI world, I really value catching the less posed, imperfect "in between" moments. The facial expression you don't realize you make when you see your partner, the moments that may feel mundane but carry so much meaning. I prefer guided prompts over strict posing. I love creating photos that remind you how magical your every day life is.
